What company with the advantage of trading + distribution cannot make profits with the fixed selling price of 117 and procurement of crude oil below 30 USD?

The share price of LIOC should go up with this positive trend. But you never know what messages are emanating from the brokers and their team of technical advisers.

I see that these brokers are in a good syndicate.

I heard that in the last quarter LIOC made a loss for every litre they sold due to the taxes. More than Rs. 50 per petrol litre goes to the government as taxes. That's why we need a price formula to ensure a fair share of profit for every party involved. I.e, consumers, oil companies and government. At the moment, the government is making a killing out of low fuel prices and not the oil companies and consumers.

The next quarterly report will show the real scenario because crude oil drop to the deep 30s occured later in last year and early this year and the trend continues till a local price cut happens

March qtr should be very positive for them as Govt will try to delay a price cut as long as possible. The pricing formula also will be good for the Company. However transparency of accounts/info submitted has been a concern in the past...

I am not 100% sure of accuracy of data. Yet as per above even though the oil price is falling , the benefit of that is not transferred to the general public in any of above countries....

If my secondary data source is  reliable, if this is the practice of rest of the world, I don't expect any deviation from the current practice by the government.

These days I find JVP is arguing to push the oil price down for local consumer, in the same manner Patali was arguing at the latter part of the former regime.

Why can't our politicians do their own homework and do analysis like above before provoking general public ?

Anyway above is relevant for LIOC.N hence I included this not iin political discussion...

You have portrayed the statistics in such a graphical manner that no one has the gumption to challenge your motives. You are above par!

So we (Sri Lanka Politicians) are following World Class Macro Economics in solving our problems. Good.

Only one question...
What is the answser? Isn't Sri Lanka following the BEST PRACTICES when it comes to transparency and accountability?

Are we 2nd Class citizens as to be deprived of the PRICING FORMULA on the petrol and diesel?

However, the claim is that they only drift down slowly, like a feather, when the oil price comes down, much to the benefit of suppliers

That's how Norway got money to own such a massive sovereign fund!

It is by preserving the benefits of its resources Norway built the fund for the future. But thinking is different here. We all want to enjoy the benefits and leave nothing for the future.

Local rates are rising to cut consumption. Why should fuel prices be reduced and consumption increase on the other side?

tuk tuk fellows have not lowered their fare (except companies) when price reduction was done in the past.

If I add to this, if petrol/diesel prices are lowered even the knock on effect is slow or not existent. But when it goes up, it goes up in a flash. So who will actually benefit the decline?
