Even though Sri Lankan consumer has embraced Floor Tiles against other alternatives of floor surfacing, Wall Tile is resisted with the perception Wall Tiles are luxury end products.
The Tile industry is heavily depending on LP Gas as energy cost account for more than 40% of the industry wide average cost of production.

(To be addressed in a suitable time in the thread)
What do you think of the political developments towards the industry; do you think the monopoly might be affected driving the revenue and the margins down?

Re: LWL.N0000 (Lanka Walltiles PLC)
Initially the new government made different statements affecting investors like CGT and Super Gain Tax and Crushing Crony Capitalists..
Now the government is matured. Now they understand what will happen to Forex the moment imports are encouraged sending the local manufacturer home.
Anyway Ying Yang , I like to keep the thread only for LWL and out of politics.. all the share related industry analysis I tried my best to keep the books clean. ( I am the self appointed librarian here )

super gain tax is a past matter. it is not charged in present year. the increase in tax is due to some other reason.

Nice knowing you are around Jana1. I would like to request you to give us a heads up on any information about the Rubber future if any. Sorry to go off topic and thanks.

This is what may have prompted you to exit LWL...
The Tile industry is heavily depending on LP Gas as energy cost account for more than 40% of the industry wide average cost of production
FG is doing analysis on Quarter reports and we are lucky to read these quarter analysis..
I am wondering whether we should move few miles ahead with inclusion of some other ways of predicting performances of companies...
For an example if we can do research with few leading Hardware owners we can see the direction before quarter results get published...

Re: LWL.N0000 (Lanka Walltiles PLC)
Right now, it looks like a down swing, which can bring the price near 90/- towards early April '17.
(My action would be similar to that of Jana1)
-----
BTW: Notice our 'Librarian' in the thread:
"I would state LWL.N will reach down below 90/- before the end of April 2017"
"And form a bottom between 80/- and 90/-"
"And move up again at least 20% within the year 2017"

They should rise next year with ASI coming to its worth..of course Rs 150 will be easily broken within 2017 and very much more is possible if no surprise negative factors in economy occur...

Re: LWL.N0000 (Lanka Walltiles PLC)
This share as well as entire tile and aluminum industry was threatened with " Crushing Crony Capitalists " in 2015. Yet that year itself was a remarkable one for LWL.
Challenging environments are not what well seasoned businessmen avoid, but thrive...Market price of a share is not purely depending on company performance when evaluated at a particular moment, but heavily depending on the long run. That is where TAs and Fundamentalists differ.. TAs find even share prices go up without reasons to assign but for Fundamentalists they see reasons behind share price.
For me LWL is worthy holding for long-term...
