2011 was a remarkable year for us investors . From one aspect it was a bubble at CSE. On the other hand it was the year that lifted the economy of Sri Lanka a floor high. Yet not all the companies were geared to grab this opportunity created after ending war in 2009 and with correct economic directions made in 2010. In banking and finance industry PLC, NTB, SEYB and more clearly SAMP shows this uplift in performance.

When the revenue of SAMP is compared with other NBFIs and Commercial Banks, it shows a clear difference. When NTB and NDB was struggling with big NBFIs , SAMP stand high and above. ( I am yet to evaluate the real big players among commercial banks)

Minimum price of SAMP has often fallen below net asset value, giving good opportunities for traders as well as long term investors.

Well its like this... I include findings once I read annual reports.. But by now I included COMB and you can find that in COMB.N0000 thread.

I have to include HNB, DFCC , UNION to get a complete picture and without BOC and PB its not really meaningful..

Sampath has done a blunder by increasing SMS fees and charging after first 10 sms a month (does not include credit card transactions or bank promo news). What went on social media is on mainstream media now. Too greedy for money well all banks are

sampath bank never forced or threaten their customers to use SMS service. it's an optional service. if you want you can get sms service and pay the tariff  or  else  you  can  remove  the service. .

They can justify sending any number of SMS, by saying they are on updates of your transactions/accounts.

In that case you are right.
however they asked me to add the sms service but i refused it .because If I could have done transactions and etc without SMS alerts service. now why should I need this new service.
This is my personal view and thought to share it in the forum

Yes, it is personal matter.

SMS service has its advantages.

For example;

Whenever, you receive the dividend payment in the account, you'd receive an SMS; you need not keep on checking the account to see if the payment has arrived.

2011 was a year that turned the Sri Lankan economy to a new slab. Sampath shows that it has grown up by another slab again..in Revenue as well as in PAT
