    A solar equinox is a point in time when the Sun crosses the Earth's equator, appearing directly above the equator rather than north or south of it. 

    The sun appears to rise "due east" and set "due west" on the day of the equinox. This happens twice a year, around the 20th of March and the 23rd of September.

    During the spring equinox, the sun crosses the celestial equator, which is an imaginary line in the sky that marks the equator of the Earth projected onto the celestial sphere.

    During the spring equinox, the length of the day and night are approximately equal all over the world, with the sun rising exactly in the east and setting exactly in the west.

    This event marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and the beginning of autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

    It is a time of renewal and new beginnings, celebrated in many cultures and religions around the world.


    වසන්ත විෂුවය එය වසරකට දෙවරක්, උතුරු අර්ධගෝලයේ (සහ සැප්තැම්බර් 22 හෝ 23 දකුණු අර්ධගෝලයේ) මාර්තු 20 හෝ 21 වැනි දිනවලදී සිදුවන තාරකා විද්‍යාත්මක සිදුවීමකි.

    වසන්ත සමකයේදී සූර්යයා ආකාශ සමකය තරණය කරයි, එය ආකාශ ගෝලය මතට ප්‍රක්ෂේපණය කරන ලද පෘථිවි සමකය සලකුණු කරන අහසේ මනඃකල්පිත රේඛාවකි.

    වසන්ත විෂුවය තුළ, දිවා රාත්‍රියේ දිග දළ වශයෙන් ලොව පුරා සමාන වේ, සූර්යයා හරියටම නැගෙනහිරින් නැඟී හරියටම බටහිරින් බැස යයි.

    මෙම සිදුවීම උතුරු අර්ධගෝලයේ වසන්තයේ ආරම්භය සහ දකුණු අර්ධගෝලයේ සරත් සෘතුවේ ආරම්භය සනිටුහන් කරයි.

    එය ලොව පුරා බොහෝ සංස්කෘතීන් සහ ආගම්වල සමරනු ලබන අලුත් සහ නව ආරම්භයේ කාලයකි.
