    Certain companies clearly mention their dividend payout policy. CTBL is one such. Page 21 of the annual report clearly mention that company policy is to maintain 50% dividend policy out of earning and the balance moved to reserves.

    Thus directors have declared an interim payment of 17.5 cents on 24th of April.

    It seems holding both ASIY and CTBL is good for a dividend hunter.

    CTBL always remained lower in Revenue than ASIY.

    ROE of both ASIY and CTBL move in same direction as both are in same trade.

    Net Assets position of ASIY was rather stagnant where CTBL is slowly catching up.

    March looked good for CTBL (and ASIY) but when I look at cashflow it is not there. receivables is going up and is financed with overdrafts. Hope it is ok.

    YK, I advise not look only at payout. If profit drops dividend also drop along with price like what happened few quarters ago.

    Now bounce back (due to good tea business?)

    Second quarter 2023 results:
    EPS: LK₨0.35 (up from LK₨0.04 in 2Q 2022).
    Revenue: LK₨438.7m (up 103% from 2Q 2022).
    Net income: LK₨64.4m (up LK₨57.4m from 2Q 2022).
    Profit margin: 15% (up from 3.2% in 2Q 2022). The increase in margin was driven by higher revenue.
    Over the last 3 years on average, earnings per share has increased by 58% per year but the company’s share price has only increased by 5% per year, which means it is significantly lagging earnings growth.
