You are correct LSE. Daily chart is becoming more interesting. The most encouraging factor is high volume of trading. Looks like 130/- a high possibility.

Institutional buying was seen both in SAMP & COMB. Looks like institutions are taking positions getting the benefit from weak prices.

A short answer might be, coz that's what they have to ditch.

In all previous instances whenever market was so low foreigners were the ones who snap up big quantities from the market with cheap prices and one or two years later our local fellows jump in at which point foreigners sold out with hefty profits. Here foreigners are selling at deep discounts may be due to they are of the view that next year or two will be extremely bad here and locals are thinking now we are at the bottom. Its too early to say which party is correct but in all previous instances foreigners proved to be correct in their timing of in and out.

Week ended in 29th May shows net foreign sale of 1.3Mn SAMP shares. There were lot of buyers around 100,they may unloading SAMP for quick gain.

Even at this price SAMP has a great value,Rs.11.75 dividend is on 3rd June.Holding this for longterm will be a sure winner.

On a trader's point of view buying SAMP at this price for trading is not a good idea.

Thanks Path, good to have you back. We sorely need inputs as we try to adjust to the "new abnormal". If Sampath plunges close to 100/ on XD , it could be another opportunity.

Not only Sampath but there are many such stocks in the market. Only issues is the appetite is not there still. Further the coming quarters will be a definite challenge and will be hard to show YoY growth for many companies and that will create more opportunities for investors who are looking for long term investments.

Exactly. That figures can be really interesting the way things happening right at the moment. Sudda has dispatched most of them with a big loss right. Will they enter again Question Even now SAMP.N0000 is at a huge discounted price when compared to the book value.

As my money was tied up with other shares in the sector and was
trading too, I couldn't  put some into SAMP ( short term just for the Dividend).

If I can release some money depending on market situation, I was thinking
about SAMP on June 2nd if  price is low.

But the greater worry is how much SAMP will drop after dividend.
Rs 100 seems not too far fetched!

So, I feel it might not be smart to put  money just for the dividend
in short term. Will decide on June 1st/2nd depending on price

But for long term investment, no question, SAMP at around Rs 100 is very good.
( if you are a true investor who can hold incase something goes further south)

At 112/ with dividend is better than at 100/ without.

If we extrapolate SAMP XD behavior in the past; we can expect a drop to 100 and recover back to 110 within one or two weeks.

Dropping to double digit will be bonus to scavengers. Twisted Evil

Be calm and patient. You may buy 100 shares if it comes to 100 and buy another 200 if it comes to double digits. Simple as that Very Happy

Today I was expect SAMP.N0000 to go up again beyond 120 but it didn't happen due to the foreign selling.

Foreigners are the main sellers and there were total of 779815 Qty already been sold by Foreigners at the EOD for the average price of 113.30

    Foreign Holding = 68,002,888

    Note:
If this trend continues price can be drag down very fast during the week
