Re: SAMP.N0000 (Sampath Bank PLC)
I think even there are chances to buy below 110 even cum div if entire next week is also open for trading. Market sentiment is that much bad at the moment.කිත්සිරි ද සිල්වා wrote:I will be happy if I can grab a few around 115/= on Monday.

With a 11.50 divi![]()
People don't have any clue about whetherr these prices are ex or cum div. They just want to dump and run...

110/= would be even better.

Re: SAMP.N0000 (Sampath Bank PLC)
The rate at which Covid hitting the world is alarming. I see two new developments.
1) India's situation has just start to worse-off and if it developed to a state of Italy then God bless
2) USA is catching up all others in terms of spread. It has just pass Iran in terms of total infections and just below Spain. If the current rate of spread continues definitely it is going to pass Italy and then you can imaging what will happen to world wide indices.
I believe we are far above the bottom of the current crash and the bottom will be far beyond the imagination of all of us. So better to keep the cash for some more time.

Look you guys ,in market like this we need to be careful.
( I don't have SAMP)
a) SAMP was dragged down from Rs 119 to 100 ( in 38 second market)
b) Then today, there was a very short , thin trade bounce to Rs 109
( could be expected after a big drop of Rs 19 in short time - I mentioned
about SAMP situation yesterday morning on FB ) on a green market day
c) Finally at the end of the day , I saw people selling again at Rs 102.
Investors are still not in. Trading is happening.
Like I said in the other post, don't do big buys ( or even big trades)
yet in this market.

This is a GEM at this level. Strong support is laying around 100 and once it's done SAMP will start to move further...

How will restriction affect SAMP?
Hello, slstock.slstock wrote:

SAMP has announced (but not declared) dividend of Rs 11.75 per share, and the share is supposed to trade XD from June 3rd.
One is not certain how CBSL's restriction on dividends will be interpreted in this case. Any idea?

The restriction does not apply for dividends already declared.

Re: SAMP.N0000 (Sampath Bank PLC)
Agree. I have already said sit back and watching the show is the smartest thing one should do now. Wealth gone is the past and will accumulate slowly in future but now we need to take decisions for future. I am always saying to me that my financial capacity is not good now so use time wisely to maximize the benefit of my limited resource !!slstock wrote:The Invisible wrote:කිත්සිරි ද සිල්වා wrote:100 - 11 = 89

Re: SAMP.N0000 (Sampath Bank PLC)

President - The biggest challenge we face right now is to rebuild the collapsed economy. It will take a long time for the apparel industry to recover. The tourism industry also has suffered a serious setback. A very large amount of revenue and jobs have been lost. The old economic model based largely on imports is no longer viable. We must move towards a production economy. The banking sector can make a huge contribution to make this a success ...
