Re: LWL.N0000 (Lanka Walltiles PLC)
tile, aluminium and plastic performed well because of low crude oil prices as well as construction boom we experienced.
now, things are changing and market has a fair question regarding future performances of those sectors. if port city comes with mega development plan then those sectors will see its next level. economy is rotating its legs. we should watch out for the directions. some sectors will outperform market in coming year as well.
i bet on food & beverage for sure and watching manufacturing, construction and hotels.
good luck all

Good thinking
and
This is the Yin-Yang theory in action my Friend.
Better think of Growing paddy in rain and sawing millet in drought.
Another lesson is;
You need to keep the 'Chi' energy in balance; otherwise the systems will fail.
For long tern survival of the 'deer' you need healthy 'tigers'. So don't wish non-existence of tigers in sympathy of deer.

That's why we should talk half and let the 'well read' to continue the rest.
+++++++++
It's a proven fact that, in absence of tigers, deer population will increase .....and increase ......and explode.
And, eat will they all grass.
and when the drought comes
no grass will be left
and will die all our deer in hunger and thrust.
++++++++++
Tiger will control the population which lead to preserve enough grass for survival of deer in hard times.
Tiger is a dear friend of deer in disguise.

This is what may have prompted you to exit LWL...
The Tile industry is heavily depending on LP Gas as energy cost account for more than 40% of the industry wide average cost of production
FG is doing analysis on Quarter reports and we are lucky to read these quarter analysis..
I am wondering whether we should move few miles ahead with inclusion of some other ways of predicting performances of companies...
For an example if we can do research with few leading Hardware owners we can see the direction before quarter results get published...

Yes we are lucky to see Jana back....
Jana I really read and studied your lengthy articles earlier...hope to see your articles again..
Thanks guys.
Regarding Rubber, I believe the rubber price will be in this region (+/-10% of current price) for next 1-2 years. It can slowly move up. Possibly by 2020 it can reach reasonable price. But can't expect big jump. It is not possible. Investing in plantation company is risky, most likely the price will cum down further.
But, REXP probably reached its peak price. As an investor, that counter must be an exit point. Who knows what speculators think...??
In my understanding, crude price is also adjusted. It will stay in this region for a while before jump up.
YK, your way of selection of stocks is pretty much similar to mine. Over few weeks, I was reading about VONE and planning to step in at reasonable price. I saw your article today, really good one. Vone has much scope and could give better return, especially good bargain. I still didn't read clearly which branch gives them boost, possibly tile sector is the major. This factor needs further study.

HUNTER wrote:IMO. LWL is good but not undervalued at the moment. By looking at the price and performance trends, we can expect a medium term swing movement between 90/- and 120/-.
Right now, it looks like a down swing, which can bring the price near 90/- towards early April '17.
(My action would be similar to that of Jana1)
-----
BTW: Notice our 'Librarian' in the thread:
"I would state LWL.N will reach down below 90/- before the end of April 2017"
"And form a bottom between 80/- and 90/-"
"And move up again at least 20% within the year 2017"
Will it ?
(Was just looking at the thread and noticed....)

Re: LWL.N0000 (Lanka Walltiles PLC)
January 29, 2017,
To meet the rapidly growing demand for wall and floor tiles in the local market, LANKATILES recently entered into a successful strategic partnership with an Indian tile manufacturer Ambani Vitrified (Pvt.) Ltd.
The successful venture has seen LANKATILES placing a large order with the expectation of releasingmore quantities of 24" x 24" tiles to the market in order to meet the escalating market demand. These tiles will also be complied with the standards imposed by the Sri Lanka Standards Institute and will pertain the SLS mark.
Sharing his views, Mahendra Jayasekera - the Managing Director of Lanka Walltiles PLC and Lanka Tiles PLC said, "We don't want to disappoint our consumers as they have maintained great trust in LANKATILES. Therefore, to keep up with the ever increasing demand we have decided to partner with one of the best tile producers in India. The tiles will be produced in India but they will be sold under our brand name LANKATILES"
Further expressing his views, Mahendra Jayasekara added, "We have stationed a few of our employees at the plant based in Gujarat to ensure that the tiles are produced according to our strict guidelines, specifications and standards."
Lanka Tiles PLC, the pioneer floor tiles manufacturer in Sri Lanka was incorporated in 1984 and delivers a wide array of tiles in alluring colours, textures, designs as well as sizes to suit all needs. The tiles are manufactured under the brand name ‘LANKTATILES’ conforming to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, SLS and CE standards, and are exported to several countries such as USA, Canada, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia as well as some of the European countries.
Conversely Ambani Vitrified (Pvt) Ltd.produce an array of digital glazed vitrified tiles. The company operates a modern plant in Morbi, Gujarat.
Accordingly, the key objective of the new venture between LANKATILES and Ambani Vitrified is to bridge the gap between the supply of good quality tiles and the demand for same in the local market and to ensure LANKATILES meets the rapidly growing market demand.
