    India has been eying for the Trinco Tank Farm for decades Yankee Dickie prepared to sell it to US, prompting India for a major political intervention by involving into SL issues in 1987. I think many of us know what happened. It us obvious that now India consolisated it's position in Indian Ocean,  where India and US become close allays.  Now the game between Indira and China, China planing to revive ancient Silk Route. SL can either manage this issue for it's fortune or perish. Too much bias in to either side will not do any good.

    A decade ago things were staged as below, but nothing happened,  will see what next

    LIOC is a share always paid back to me. In the last run bought around 40/= and sold just over 60/= with 50% return.

    This time entered 38 to 40/= levels and I hope a good run very soon. The run started last month but unfortunately came down due to market sentiments.

    When the price formula is introduced don't even think to buy LIOC at these levels. I think the price formula will be introduced very soon. The formula must be designed in such a way that LIOC always makes a profit irrespective of movement in international prices and local taxes.

    The present regime is very good with India and I don't expect fat ass Ravi or Ranil will destroy an Indian company. Now when I buy a share the first thing is think about those two as they can completely destroy your plans. (Except short term trading shares).

    Don't expect good profit from LIOC in this quarter. I think the the market already taken this into account.

    For me LIOC is a medium term trading share and can't hold for investment for too long as this is subject to many regulations and external factors.

    Caution: If you are a long term investor LIOC might not be suitable for you. If you are a medium term trader this is a safe bet. If you are too cautious forget about LIOC.
    This is my personal opinion only and please do your research before making any investment/trading decision.

    Well Future

    I have already classified this share as a traders heaven. Look at the price movement in history. In many years this share has doubled within the year .

    You all can see my double standard in share trading. I am not pro Indian and I dont like Indian companies invading Sri Lanka.

    But in my PF LIOC is the biggest. I said my purpose of share investing is developing wealth.

    Well on some positive,

    Let see what happens when Oil formula comes.
    There was a talk about government, joining some foreign company for something to do with oil ( I know this is so vague, but this is just something I might have read from budget , I could be wrong so need to clarify). If it is with LIOC that some positive for them.

    But right now, after seeing last quarter results , am not too please how this company is progressing.( also in financials)

    Someone asked me on FB or via PM in forum whether is is good to buy LIOC now as his holding cost is more.
    So I thought I'd share in public.

    I feel best not to average now if one want to as it is still shaky ( could dip more if any deals are there or someone want to dump).

    Hope the Government and this company gets their act together.
    A large company having effect on ASI also.

    I dont keep a track of on special date, I buy and sell every few months, In August it went upto 18m and now reduced to 14m.

    I think you listen to Wimal Weerawansa too much..

    This is our problem Malnap... Please keep data ... I keep data since the day I made my very first investment...

    When you keep data you will evaluate them without biased...

    My Total investment and market value relationship was worst in 2008 Dec. Yet since I am a long-term investor I had no worries.

    there were some who blamed MR for fighting with LTTE as the market was crashing.. we often remove important variables and assign what we want to highlight...In 2008 it was global depression .. Anyway those days I joked and said " Lucky that there was no stock market during King Dutugamunu's era... otherwise poor investors would have asked king to stop war to protect stock market.

    Now regarding Wimal weerawansa he is a former JVPer who like any other politician is a very power hungry man.. Why you and I not into politics is because we are not motivated by power. Wimal represent a particular era of this country.. I belong to the same era.. So naturally there can be some similarities between his way of looking at things and mine..

    Regarding Lanka C News.. I read many sources and I often quote them.. Daily Mirror, Daily FT, and C news are often mentioned by me..

    If you have seen Plantation updates that consist of many negative info on that..and often C news is quoted there.Yet I am heavily into plantation... while reading all negatives and understand the impact of such..

    Anyway even for the rest of the crowd here its worth while keeping your Investment Diary...Statistics that you keep on your own actions are un-biased..

    Hungry for power and hungry for money are two different things, WW is hungry for power, but we are hungry for money that is why we are in the CSE,,

    If you are an investor then taking a hungry for power man as a role model is not good for you.. listen to people like DP,HJ or somebody who have made money in shares,, regarding an investment WW is the last person I will listen because i know he will send me to bankruptcy..

    Personally I like to keep a particular thread in Industrial analysis confined to only that share... So I may end the discussion here as it goes beyond LIOC.

    Anyway it seems you have misread me.. When I quote Daily Mirror or FT why not you find who owns Wijaya Newspaper house and the relations of its owners and then read me from that view as well..

    Bhubaneshwar, Odisha: India is interested in establishing refinery and bunkering operations in Sri Lanka, Indian Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan said on Saturday when he held a bilateral meeting with Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Development of Sri Lanka Dr. Anoma Gamage.

    Deputy Minister Gamage is in India to participate in the ceremony at Paradip where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be dedicating to the nation the Indian Oil refinery.

    Pradhan, during his meeting with the Sri Lankan Deputy Minister, discussed issues such as the expansion of activities of Lanka IOC, in Sri Lanka, including in the retail business, bunkering and marketing of ATF and LPG. Lanka IOC is a subsidiary of the Indian Oil Corporation.

    He reiterated the commitment made by Prime Minister Modi to work with Sri Lanka to make Trincomalee a regional energy hub.

    Pradhan also expressed India’s interest in establishing refinery and bunkering operations in Sri Lanka. He expressed confidence that both Sri Lanka and India would work in a spirit of partnership in the hydrocarbon
