I see this is as MCC drama part two only.
This also shows that they do not care about the country but themselves only.
The day we realized it, we will start an upward trend, not otherwise.

I hope to be out of the stock market by 2030. I want to live off the interest of bonds if possible.

One important fact, the writer has highlighted is the main growth engines of SL tea, rubber, coconut, textile and telecom has reached maturity.
Gota has to wake up and fight economic war as the woken up always overtake the sleepers.

Yes, Wijewardena's article is a good read. Focused on the basics and devoid of clutter.

Fighting the economic war! Interesting phrase indeed; the economy is fundamentally a different ecosystem not a single animal or a species; it cannot be “cornered “and dealt with like at Nandhikadal. It is connected everywhere; what goes around comes around through different sectors. It doesn’t have a single leader, it is connected locally and internationally; it is cyclical and has yield swings with weather and disasters (natural or man-made). Worst of all, the experts in the economy don’t agree on how to grow it or develop it.
So what is the secret to win? Treat economy like a garden. Do good, reform it but dont expect immediate returns. Dont expect to be popular, build a solid foundation for the development of fruits for people. Grow organic as much as possible; expand exports, cut govt expenditure and cut foreign borrowings.... save and invest for next seasons. If you see these signs in Gota's approach, he is on the right track imo.
Other gardners and planters could add more

The immediate need is Sri Lanka should grow enough grass to feed 6.9m, who brought back the same rouge regime into power.
after we are self sufficient in grass, other food prices will drop..
I predicted in this thread the market will start declining after appointment of state ministers. that is happening right now, and this decline is for next 5 years. sooner you get out, better for you.

When rain is gold reach for barrels and not thimbles
- Warren Buffet
Bear is controlling the market... Fear pshycho threaten investor.... Knife is falling ... no one catch it... catcher will bleed....
Technical guys afraid to predict and disappear..
What next support level .... Who knows?
They guys who criticized former regime earlier are now in power....Doctors are equal to earlier doctors... good to criticize but fail to act...
Time is up for the BRAVE HEARTS...
Buy shares now not because some one quickly demand from you at a very high price... Buy because its valuable to you...After buying be brave to see what you valued as fair value soon become over value...
Buy not because future is certain.... But buy because one day the economy will recover...When that one day come ...no one knows... But you buy
Howlong will you have to hold... Forever...
What is the guarantee that market will not fall further.... no guarantees.... Will EPF bail out? I doubt... as per YAHAPALANAYA.... its LAISSEZFAIRE....LET THINGS HAPPEN ALONE.... so you buy alone and dont even look at wether some one else is also buying...
Buy as if you are helping the seller...
Only the brave will enter to the market... No big funds ...no foreingers.... no retailer...but buy
We have seen this earlier ... We will see this in future...
THESE ARE THE BEST DAYS OF A MARKET...
BRAVE HEARTS DONT MISS THIS OPPORTUNIT
The only difference between YPs and Gota is Active and Passive control. Gota is active. He did not wait until India or Norway end war on behalf of us. Similarly he is laying the ground work by appointing Professionals and people with proven track record as Chairpersons and Directors of SOEs. This is the very first time it is happening. I would say Gota is a good strategist and lets continue buying. We who braved to buy during YP era has no reason to hesitate to buy under GOTA.
