Yes Japan is our best friend.
Also  the Japanese , friend or not,  are usually Honorable.

But as far as the our usual polticos are around , we are not
going to go Japans way. And Japan cannot help us as much as
they like to .

In the recent past, I recall there was a project funded ( or granted) by Japan.
Before the second tranche could be given,  progress and financial
transparency was to be analyzed.

Guess what happened ?

If we ever want to become a Developed country,  I think
we have to just learn from the Japanese who are our best
mentors ( in Asian region) .

But will we ever become like the Japanese?

Hallmark keywords  of Japanese society :

Work a holics. Work ethics.
Dedication. Honesty ( even Yakusas are honorable within their limits)
Cultural appreciation and Identity.
Law abiding/Following.

See when we are desperate, we should know who to get help from. THere will be poli mudhalalies who want to take all our family jewels, there will be big brothers who want all our beauties and attractions and honour to be sold and then we will have a freind who could help, silently or in a reasonable way.

SLS, in my opinion we could become developed over a period if we manage our finances properly and help the export industries to lead the way (supported by others). Have a national vision supported by all Sri Lankans and seek justice and fairness to all. Its as simple as that, but difficult to implement.

THe present pecking order helps many politicians, large businesses interests and some big businessmen. It wont change much for majority of us. THe sustainable way of development is to improve everyone's wealth and wellbeing gradually so we have farmers who could earn reasonable income, in a secure manner, ladies who dont have to go to middle east as domestics, we have no hunger or extreme poverty, our children get reasonably good education and we have health system which looks after our sick and elderly

COVID 19 Pandemic affected all investors through-out the world. CSE faced the same pattern. Now the psychological affect is fading away in many stock exchanges.

( LMD) Five years to July 2020 - Positive sentiment in relation to the economy has been maintained from the previous month with 44% (versus 42% in June) of corporate executives consulted in the latest LMD-Nielsen Business Confidence Index (BCI) survey stating that the economy in general ‘will improve’ in the coming 12 months.

A quarter of the survey sample believes that economic conditions are likely to remain the same in the 12 months ahead whereas 31% have a more pessimistic outlook in this regard.

Where sales volumes are concerned, long term sentiment is in line with the prior month with 68% of survey participants pointing to improved business prospects in the next year.

Nonetheless, as businesses begin to gradually revamp operations, the share of respondents who anticipate short-term ( i-e. in the next three months) improvements in sales volumes has increased to 34% ( compared to 27% in June).

As for positive sentiment regarding business performance compared to the prior year, it has fallen to 5% (from 15% in the previous month) amid the reality of doing business in the post-COVID-19 era.

Confidence in the investment climate remains unchanged with a mere 6% of businesspeople saying this is a good time to invest in the country.

The majority view on the funding outlook is negative with slightly over half the sample indicating a ‘poor’ or a ‘very poor’ investment climate.

Another 43% ( up from 30% in June) of respondents describe the prevailing investment climate as ‘fair’.

In terms of plans for the workforce, only 8% of those surveyed say they will increase the numbers in the coming six months.

The majority (82%) of respondents suggest that they will maintain their employee count- although a tenth of the sample warn of the likelihood of staff retrenchments in the six months ahead.

To be honest I was avoiding this forum because of this cheap set of political slaves.

You come here to RED FLAG others who talk a different language than yours.
When was the last time you posted something useful in this forums?
This Politics thing started much later.
I can always stop posting politics related posts not because some සඩ්ඩම්බිරාළ do not like them but let's see how can you respond by posting some useful stuffs related to CSE.
But whether we like or not bad political decisions will not only affect the CSE and our lives too in the end.
Therefore, trying to separate politics from everything else is just futile.

You can continue your සට්ටැඹි job to your masters. I'm not going to argue with political extremists who doesn't understand the difference between cheap political muds and fruitful discussions.

I remember during yahapalana era when some were posting here against that government the same people here were giving advices to stop saying this is not a political forum. Even constructive criticism were not allowed. These people were "preaching" politics is dividing the members and bla bla bla
Hypocrisy is in the blood of your people I guess.

Anyway it's up to the Admin to take a decision. So I'll be silent again.

I want yellow knife to step in and say what direction thread should take

The purpose is very clear for the thread.

I wanted to add a continuous thread which will show how Gota's era move with CSE. At the moment it has generated local interest with high volumes. Yet it has failed to create confidence among foreign investors.

This thread will cover how the decisions taken by the Government affect CSE. Continuing a thread like will this be useful for

1. Investors

2. Politicians

3. General Public.

Politics is something everyone is interested and where everyone can write something. It will be come too hot at times.

I have never ever given a red remarks for any member and I still believe its better to remove - responds for posters.

I criticize anyone when they take bad political decisions.

I used to call the Yahapalanaya guys as NATO boys and the others Murder Looter Gang.

I only have one side and that is the future of this country.

I do not get offended when someone posts an opposing view of mine.

Either I counter it or accept it.

This Politics thing started much later.
I can always stop posting politics related posts not because some සඩ්ඩම්බිරාළ do not like them but let's see how can you respond by posting some useful stuffs related to CSE.
But whether we like or not bad political decisions will not only affect the CSE and our lives too in the end.
Therefore, trying to separate politics from everything else is just futile.

I am glad that I finally managed to wake up the සඩ්ඩම්බිරාළ from his slumber.
Now only he remembers the CSE & forum.

I remember during yahapalana era when some were posting here against that government the same people here were giving advices to stop saying this is not a political forum. Even constructive criticism were not allowed. These people were "preaching" politics is dividing the members and bla bla bla
