Re: 104 Technical trading experiments by HUNTER
@WRRKUMARA, Let's consider KZOO next week if it is not too late.
@LSE,

@ruwan326, will try to pick a short term one next time.
@Topcat, the set up suggests buying now between 22~24/- and selling when the price reaches near 29~30/- (in March/April 2020)
----------------------------
PS:
I think I suggested not putting more that 1% of your risk capital in any on these trades.

(Safeguarding you and myself just in case things become sour)
------------------------------
So, We have started our series of experiment.
Trade#: 001
Date: 19 Nov 2019
Buy@: 23/-
SL@: 19.50/-
TP@: 29.50/-
Hold Until: April 2020

But will keep silent accepting the majority wish.
ps : In momentum based market like this , when ASI rises , any share can go up.
So concern is not about achieving (or not achieving) the target set

Reserving my comments as I see many people including another

If you like to experience trading, need to get the hands dirty.
Just for fun, may be you can open a new account with some petty cash to burn on these experiments.
Trading is largely a psychological game, the opponent is your own mind. Opponent is activated when you're engaged with a trade.

Let me reveal a few concerns I have as it may be smart to do right now
( some I can't reveal in public as other forums/parties can capitalize on such
to attack this forum)
Let talk about the concern by taking AEL as an example.
1) AEL was discussed when it was Rs 11-12 at this forum .
In summary there will be quite a few people who bought AEL at Rs 12-13
and maybe still holding ( like Backstage) .I even suggested someone
who bought at Rs 18 before ( and at significant losses at that time) to buy
more AEL to average at Rs 12 as it was trading cheap.
2) Now for this experiment, if many people start buying at Rs 23 is it not an
artificial boost to AEL and not a natural one? Can we ( forum) get in trouble ?
Best to stay alert on the issue.
3) Now we all know why AEL started running. Was not due to a major fundamental change in value . But it was due to more of sentiment change, speculation, political stuff and future expectations. So it is a Hot share.
I understand , thats what Trend trading is about and that is experiment on this
thread.
4) I recall when I cautioned before, Hunter said he will pick liquid shares.
I understand AEL is liquid and group buying on retail will not have major
issues on market prices of AEL.
5) But in future if you pick an illiquid share , HOT Shares or some other shares Hunter suggested ( some in the list) I see it can have an effect. Especially on shares that have already run a lot. Group buying now without any fundamental reason but just based on Trends/sentiments can show effects on more illiquid share prices .
6) Hunter have stop losses. Am saying for you own safety so no one can blame
you if things don't go the way you expect by chance.
7) I think it is Best to also pay alert to any legal and ethical issues when
carrying out this experiment ( depending on the share as it can effect the forum)

Re: 104 Technical trading experiments by HUNTER
When a vehicle starts moving, the accelerator and steering are important.
Equally important is a good braking system.
I see a good and healthy brake in your comments.
If things start going out of control, of course, I am ready to stop this thread prematurely.
Let see the developments in coming weeks.
---
In a way, in addition to bringing some awareness on technical trading, quite unintentionally though, I feel this thread might server another purpose.
I see some posts by seniors highlighting the hidden intentions by some promoters in the forum. As an alternative to those 'baseless' promotions, let's try to present, to 'newbies' some trading ideas in a more methodical and organized manner here.
Additionally, we can challenge those 'promoters' to prove themselves of their performance statistically; adopting some method similar to in this thread.
While criticizing the 'bad', showing something better can be complimenting when eliminating that bad, in my view.

Backstage wrote:Hunt, how about doing it without asking people to buy shares ? we all analyze and select then track the selection with graphs/charts with periodic reviews. Let real time investment be peoples personal choices.
Oh yes!
This has to be totally voluntary.
To clarify if there is any misunderstanding......
Those who wish for first hand experience can execute their own chosen trades.
Others can just watch.
I don't intend this to be a collective activity.
Our actions here should not affect the natural market movement.
-------------
What I suggested was, to get the first hand experience, you need to execute trades.
Even buying just one or two shares would do.
-----------
To manage the fear of loosing, you need to loose few trades.
You cannot loose a trades without buying in the first place.

Dear All,
With my consent, due to the sensitive nature of this experiment, and in order to have some control, as suggested by the Admin, we will continue this discussion in a restricted area.
This area is a restricted section under technical trading.
Now, how to join this section:
For the time being, I am nominated as the moderator in that section (I am willing to hand over the moderator function to any volunteer).
I will grant access to that section, upon request, to anyone falling under any of following categories:
* Veterans
* Moderators / admins
* Top contributors
* Anyone nominated by any of the above
Let me know if the above is acceptable.
-----------
Dear Admin,
Let's copy this threat in the restricted area to continue. While keeping a duplicate here up to this post.

Backstage wrote:So Hunter, what's your view of the AEL technical chart I sent you ? (I don't know how to put the image here.) It suggest a bigger pull back before rising.
Here is your chart..

Considering the -/75 dividend payout, I also think a pull back towards 19.70 is possible. If the price goes below that, it might be a sign of some problem.

Re: 104 Technical trading experiments by HUNTER
How do you think we should continue this thread?
I have given access to only 3 so far;
Bakstage
Kithsiri
Yellow Knife
If continuing is not useful, let this have a natural death.
