Some sales people who got the news earlier and many others speculated of duty hike, have imported LEAF vehicles in numbers over the last few months, aiming good gains. Now that will not work, instead, already imported and newly importing vehicls will create some oversupply scenario further reducing price to the shit. Entrance of the new improved version further affect the older version market. So if any one is planing to buy one it may be prudent to wait few weeks and see the pattern.  Some what sounds  like stock picking eh! It's very important to identify the bottom in both cases. Yes Hal u r correct, new Leaf 2014 5D X @ 28/=now @ nugegoda from today, what about used leaf then Smile

This is soo interesting, and i also like to see this plummet to Electric cars and Eco Friendly Cars.

Now You can Buy a Nissan Leaf for around Rs 2.3 mn even  Very Happy

I wish I could see the weekly price range of LEAF plotted in a chart.

Some simple TA will show the optimum price and the time to pick one.

I expect the chart to show a 'Pin bar' or a 'head and shoulder'

75 K one must be a taxi in Japan Razz , By the way in a LEAF review article, it was mentioned that the highest Odo meter recording in Japan so far was a taxi and it was just above 100,000 km, and the battery indicator shows 99% healthy battery according to the review that I read few months back.

Buying LEAF - Page 3 Empty Re: Buying LEAF

Post by HUNTER Wed Jan 06, 2016 4:19 pm

Finally, I went to see a LEAF in a car sale.

Right now, I am with a Prius and was thinking of moving to a more simple car. (As I am, these days, not using the car very much).

There had been very nice positive reviews about LEAF; about the leg space, luggage space, seat size, road clearance etc. So, I guess, my expectations were a little high.

I started from the rear side. The boot volume (luggage area) was good; there was enough depth and area to hold a lot of things' was happy; a plus point.

But then I noticed, there was no spare wheel. It reminded me my recent experience when one of my tires blasted. The spare wheel saved me lot of time.

Then I moved to the rear seat. Well, it was not very impressive I would say. It's good for two people but three people would find it too crowded. The leg space did not seem very comfortable. (I was comparing with the Prius, however, I think, Aqua or a Fit may have similar space)

Then the road clearance. Regardless of what I had heard, it was not much deviated from other 'low profile' vehicles (such as Prius, Aqua). So, it's OK but nothing special.

Finally, the driver's area. It was modern looking though seemed little compact. Displays were good looking. I saw enough facilities for phone charging etc. Nothing much to complain there. Only thing was that, it gave me a feeling of a modern toy car. (Well, it's personal I guess. Younger generation might prefer it that way Wink )

So, putting all in all, I feel LEAF may be a handy 'city' car for a family of about 3; but did not give me the impression of a family car in true sense (When thinking of going on a vacation trip).

And, I am back to square one; looking for a simpler (family) car to replace a Prius.

As of my experience Prius is a much more practical car here in SL's car market. Especially with the current tax structure. (Although electric cars are taxed lower, with the limitations of available electric cars, they can only be considered more as city cars except for few high end luxury electric cars)
