Its really interesting to see some comments on there.

One guy said "UK Leafs have no solar panel" hahaha Thats totally incorrect. you can buy leafs with solar panel on it from UK.
Most of the comments just rumors than facts.

People are used to refill at filling stations within minutes and that is enough for 2 weeks on average I assume. With the leaf you will be required to charge (refill) at home for longer duration and more frequently. So you need to think of the hassle along with the cost savings.

It is also good/bad only depending on your use. It is a different story if you want a car to go on weekend trips.

Analyzing stocks we are familiar with depreciation and how it affects profits and how important that is. So how long will the leaf battery last and how much will it cost for replacement?

    Ukboy,
Since u said leaf tax is also going to go up. Isn't it gd to buy a leaf from someone selling for the old rate which is below 2.9 million. (Probably 2013 X grade) rather than buying after the tax increase next month where we will be paying extra 250000. Pls correct me if I'm wrong.

Also how long does the leaf battery last and how much does the battery cost in srilankan rupees?

My budget is 2.9 mill. At the moment swinging between wagon R hybrid and leaf Smile

    http://www.theverge.com/2015/12/7/9865014/hyundai-ioniq-electric-ev-plug-in-hybrid

Now buying an engine less Electric vehicle for 5 million looks a stupid idea with the stupid duty structure. It seems plug in hybrids is the way to go. Good to see the entrance of Hyundai in grand style, bwith the option of all 3 modes, EV, HYBRID Or PHEV. Hope the cost t of Hyundai will be less when compared to Japanese brands like toyota.

New model of LEAF to hit the market with improved battery capacity. This can further plummet the older version's prices.

Shall wait till the car dealers come out with their pricing structure.

Some sales people who got the news earlier and many others speculated of duty hike, have imported LEAF vehicles in numbers over the last few months, aiming good gains. Now that will not work, instead, already imported and newly importing vehicls will create some oversupply scenario further reducing price to the shit. Entrance of the new improved version further affect the older version market. So if any one is planing to buy one it may be prudent to wait few weeks and see the pattern.  Some what sounds  like stock picking eh! It's very important to identify the bottom in both cases.
