    This is a family owned family of business. Many popular brands of SL consumers are included in this business entity. Cargills, Kotmale,KFC, Kist, TGI Friday, are among them.

    When disposable income increase branded foods and entertainment are among the high in demand..Regal Film hall and the rest of cinema halls are owned by the company and Ceylon Theaters being the name suggest that is the beginning of the business

    When compared with other diversified companies CT Holdings revenue is attractive

    Even though company maintain a sound revenue level its profit level is not satisfactory.. Different reasons can be assigned like loss making film industry or loss making of TGI Friday or even VAT issue with the government or even in efficiency..

    Market value was always kept higher than Net Asset Value

    PE ratio was also kept higher than once touching 10. Illiquid nature of the company shares and ownership holding by family members make its price expensive

    2013 was the best in EPS and VAT issue was one reason for the drop after that year.. FMCG sector was also not attractive with the booming of Construction sector in 2014 and 2015. However the year that will end with 2016 March will be again attractive for FMCG

    1928- Ceylon Theatres Limited was established by Sir Chittamplam A. Gardiner

    1981 Under the leadership of Albert A. Page Cargills and Millers was acquired

    1991.. Majestic City Shopping Complex was completed by CT Land Development PLC

    1992.. CT Smith stock brokers started venturing into finance

    1996.. KFC franchise

    1999 Entering to Tiles,Ceramic, Plantation and Packing industries

    2002 acquiring Wall Ice Cream

    2006  Commissioned new meat processing plant

    2009 Empire residential development project

    2011 acquiring Kotmale and Diana biscuits

    2012 entering into brewery business

    2013  TGI Fridays started in Fort

    2014  license obtained for Commercial bank and disposal of Lanaka Ceramic PLC

    2015 Exit from brewery sector..
