    Aitken Spence PLC has been in business for more than 150 years and can be considered as a MNC since its present in 7 countries. Its operations are not mere exports but involved in different regions including Asia, Africa and Asia Pacific. Thus they are bound by two international reporting standards G4 and IR.

    Its business is scattered in 7 countries namely Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Bangladesh, Oman, Mozambique and Fiji

    One resource of Sri Lanka is its population and following chart indicates the population strength . For obvious reasons I remove India and Bangladesh as it dwarf the rest..

    Company acts as agents for Lloyd's of London in Sri Lanka since 1876

    This will be a good move as most preferred places before were Bali, Florida, Thailand & Philippines to name a few places.

    Why do you buy? Is it for holding forever, or to keep for sometime until it reach for a specific profit margin or for trading...

    Each of us have our own strategy... If its for trading check for technical and hot news...If only others are willing to buy immediately after you buy then only trading works..

    If you are buying for a life time holding its really worth.. if so wait until its price is below 10 PE ratio or Market Value/Asset Value =1.5..

    If you are buying for dividend hunting then Dividend/.10 will be ideal value... If so Spen is too high...

    Here we dont promote shares... we just evaluate and share our views...

    About 10 years back  SPEN and JKH were close peers, but in last 10 years, SPEN is lagging behind and JKH has gone far, They have not done any sizable investment specially in post-war period like JKH, so the HNWI interest also lethargic and the price is stagnating. Uncle Harry has no energy now ? or I would say less aggressive.

    Yes, I also had the same idea, may be a giant waiting to regain the past glory when the playing field is favourable.
