How to make them attractive?

There is no point talking about the financial debacles of the Mattala Airport and Hambantota seaport anymore.

Whether we like it or not, both are going to stay with us for years to come.

Therefore, what we have to do now is to see how they can be made more attractive to airlines and shipping lines in future.

Any constructive suggestions from the experts of various walks of like here.

It may always be handy to have a second international airport specially during an emergency. Other than that there can't be 2 hub air ports in a one country IMHO. Not even in UK- London Heathro is the only hub airport while others are accessory airports. Just my opinion, I'm not an expert on that subject. On the other hand it can be developed as a cargo handling airport.
Members who involved in aviation industry or related businesses may give some insight.

Hambanthota sea port has a real bright future if managed wisely.

This I stumble upon while ago and it sounds very sensible and worth the try.

Even Hambantota port area can be converted to Maritime studies college as we do not have such specialized facilities at the moment.
