Seems not a mathematical question. Need to think out of the box. Anyways if subjects like maths and physics made fun would have more followers. Watch this if anyone got time. Really interesting how he has put it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NbBjNiw4tk Michio Kaku is up there with Stephen Hawkings as theoretical physicists. He may appear on comedy series The Big Bang theory like Prof Hawkings.

I see two clear patterns in there.

First, sum of four numbers in the first two circles adds up to 26. Logically, you need to add 10 to arrive at 26 in the third circle.

Second, when you add the two numbers diaganally in the first and second circles separately at a time (top right + below left, below right+top left) one sum increases by one while the other decreases by one in the second circle. You need to put 10 in the third circle to see the same pattern.

So it can't be a single digit one.

Can Smile I'll explain with the answer.

As there are ONLY single digit numbers in all other quadrangles, putting 10 goes out of pattern and thus not the answer.

    I see 2 answers

    a) the total of 4 numbers in first 2 circles add to 26. So missing number in 3rd circle is 10
    b) In first circle you multiply 7x8 = 56. So you write 5 in the bottom right and 6 in the top left. Do same in second circle to get 48 and write 4 and 8.

So for the 3rd , it is 36. So missing number is 6.

I think in your way of solving the answer should be 6.(Like serene said)

Why in the First Circle Diagonal multiplication of 8 * 7 = 56. 5 and 6 are in the other diagonal.

Same to the second circle 8 * 6 = 48. 4 and 8 are in the other diagonal.

Third circle 4 * 9=36 so the missing number is 6.
