මේ වන විට එක්සත් ජනපද ඩොලරය අනෙකුත් විදේශ විනිමයන්ට එරෙහිව සීඝ්‍රයෙන් ඉහළ යාම ගෝලීය වශයෙන් රටවල් රැසකම ආර්ථිකයන්ට අත්පත් කර දී ඇත්තේ අහිතකර වාතාවරණයකි. මේ තත්ත්වය තුළ ශ්‍රී ලංකා රුපියල ද 2018 වසරේ පළමු මාස 09 ඉක්ම යද්දී සියයට 10 කට ආසන්න ප්‍රමාණයකින් ඩොලරයට සාපේක්ෂව අවප්‍රමාණය වී තිබේ.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහ බැංකුව කියා සිටින්නේ ලොව රටවල් ගණනාවකම මුදල් ඒකක මේ වන විට ඩොලරය ඉදිරියේ අවප්‍රමාණය වී ඇති බවයි. මීට අදාළ දත්ත සටහනක් නිකුත් කරමින් මේ බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහ බැංකුව විසින් මනාව විග්‍රහ කර තිබේ.

අදාළ සටහනට අනුව ඩොලරය ඉදරියේ පසුගිය 2017 වසරේ දී 6% කින් අධිප්‍රමාණය වූ ඉන්දියානු රුපියල 2018 වසර තුළ දී මේ දක්වා 12.1% කින් අවප්‍රමාණය වී ඇත.

මීට අමතරව ඉන්දුනීසියානු රුපියා 9.6% කින්, පිලිපීන පෙසෝ 7.9% කින් හා ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු ඩොලරය 7.3% කින් මෙන්ම යූරෝ 3.1% කින්, 2018 වසර තුළදී ඩොලරයට සාපේක්ෂව අවප්‍රමාණය වී තිබේ.

මේ අතර ඉහළම ආර්ථික වර්ධන වේගයකට හිමිකම් කියනු ලබන දීනයේ රෙන්මිඹි මුදල් ඒකකය ද ඩොලරය ඉදිරියේ මෙම වසර තුළ දී 5.1% කින් අවප්‍රමාණය වී ඇත. සිංගප්පූරු ඩොලරයේ අවප්‍රමාණය මෙම වකවානුව තුළ 2.6% කි. බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය පවුම ද 3.1% කින් අවප්‍රමාණය වී තිබේ.

පහත දැක්වෙන්නේ අදළා ප්‍රස්ථාර සටහනයි.

Thanks Nihal for sharing.

Interest rates are a double edged instrument. I wonder whether they are cutting their own grave.

Increasing of rates would definitely divert more & more $s to USA & make its currency stronger but at the same time it will make American goods expensive to the rest of the world.

Japan, China, & many other industrial countries would be able to win in this game.

As a result, we would see more jobless Americans sooner.
