ඊයේ (ජුනි 08) පැවති බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය මහා මැතිවරණයෙන් පාලක කොන්සර්වේටිව් පක්ෂයට ආණ්ඩුවක් පිහිටුවීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය බහුතර බලය අහිමිවන බව මෙතෙක් ප්‍රකාශිත ප්‍රතිඵල අනුව අනාවරණය වේ.
එහෙත් මැතිවරණයේදී පක්ෂයක් දිනාගත් වැඩිම ආසන සංඛ්‍යාව එම පක්ෂයට හිමිවනු ඇතැයි මෙතෙක් නිකුත්වී ඇති ප්‍රතිඵල අනුව පෙනෙන්නට ඇත.
මේ අතර ප්‍රධාන විපක්ෂය වන ලේබර් පක්ෂය පසුගිය මැතිවරණයට වඩා ආසන 28ක් පමණ ලබාගනු ඇතැයි අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ.
යම් පක්ෂයක් ආණ්ඩු බලය ලබා ගැනීමට නම් ආසන 650න් සමන්විත පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ ආසන 326ක් ලබා ගත යුතුය.
මේ වනවිට ඇතිවී තිබෙන තත්ත්වය හමුවේ අගමැතිනි තෙරේසා මේ පදවියෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්විය යුතු බවට ලේබර් පක්ෂ නායක ජෙරමි කෝබින් ඉල්ලා සිටින නමුත් අගමැතිනිය එය ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කරයි.
කෙසේවෙතත්, කිසිදු පක්ෂයකට බහුතර බලයක් හිමි නොවන තත්ත්වයක් යටතේ, ආණ්ඩුවක් පිහිටුවීමට නම් ප්‍රධාන පක්ෂ දෙකටම සුළුතර පක්ෂවල සහය අපේක්ෂා කිරීමට සිදුවනු ඇත.
මින් පෙර ආසන 12 ක් බහුතර බලයක් සහිතව පාලනය ගෙන ගිය කොන්සර්වේටිව් පක්ෂයේ නායිකා අගමැතිනි තෙරේසා මේ, බ්‍රිතාන්‍යය යුරෝපා සංගමයෙන් ඉවත්වීම පිළිබඳ සාකච්ඡා සඳහා වඩා ශක්තිමත් ආණ්ඩුවක් අවශ්‍ය බව පවසමින් පසුගිය අප්‍රේල් මාසයේදී ආණ්ඩුව විසුරුවා හරියාය.
