Thanks... I reproduced using the diagram in its 2015 Annual report...

Once I have enough data , I will reproduce this diagram to show that its worth to hold Sons and not Fathers for Dividend purpose

Now we are to look at 2015/16 of VONE where revenue is still behind 2014 level but recording the best PAT

SO its worthy looking into these two entities separately.

LB Finance has been a leading NBFI for more than four decades.

LB Finance has firmly established in Gold Pawning with a portfolio of Rs 13,136 Million. LB continue to concentrate on gold pawning and recorded a growth of 26.55% in gold loan advances.

There are two advantages to LB in Gold Pawning.

1. Commercial Banks are giving up Gold Pawning .
2. Another leading NBFI , PLC.N is not into gold pawning

Within the year two new Gold Loan Centers were completed making 146 touch points for pawning .

Deposits is the primary source of funds and improvement and diversification of fund base was seen in the year.

Leasing also improved substantially where a notable 60.59%  if interest income was seen lease rental receivables

As per trading economics 2015 was the highest year that registered cars in SL and naturally all leasing companies got the benefit.

ROCEL too helped in bottom line .

AS Jana mentioned in LWL thread, crude oi price influenced the ceramic industry and let me quote form the Annual report.

" The plummeting global oil prices had a postie impact on the tile industry and sanitary ware industries: bringing down the production costs advantageously. With energy costs being one of the largest expenditure components of the production process.."


Oil has given two strategies for investors

1. Shfiting among comapnies that get +/- with oil price influence.

Eg: Buying ceramic, pvc, rubber related manufacting  company shares when oil price come down and exit when oil bottomed up.

2. Diversify between companies where oil price influence positively and negatively.

VONE gets the benefits of lower oil price in ceramic industry but adversely affected in rubber related plantations like HoPL.

My choice is also the choice of VONE where strategically prepare for positives and negatives of oil by diversifying the portfolio than shifting.

However shifters get more advantages than diversifying  in investing shares.

ROCEL has achieved many international standards like CE Marks Certification without which you would not be able to export to Euro zone.

By now ROCEL is well established in Oalkeing , Melbourne and well footed in State of Victoria of Australia. Further expansion is expected in Pakistan and Maldives.

Manufacturing industry like happened in South Korea, has to first achieve a Monopoly status within home land and next improve in quality to export. ROCEL has passed the relevant stages of learning curve and we hope that they will pass the tough tests of export world. .

What is wrong with this share?

I haven't held this for a long time (since it was at Rs.17) but there seems to be a perpetual curse around it.

What are the reasons for its continous stagnation?

1) 1 Bn market cap too large?

2) The slow progress on Greener Water (the very reason for the IPO)?

3) No big fish buying a stake in the company to drive the price?

4) People weary about the potential backlash DP and Co could face as politically motivated revenge?

Ah yes, I remember. One for each daughter and the third one for charity. During the IPO it went upto Rs.38.50! Sadly went out of action after that.

I think that they should declare a higher dividend to keep shareholders interested even if they cannot do anything to the share price.

Let do this;

Let's create a company and issue few billion shares @ 20/- each. Lets keep about 1 billion shares for ourselves. And we'll announce that the dividend will be guaranteed more than 1/- each year.

And put all money in FD or TB.
After paying dividends, balance will be re-invested.

So,
The Company will see steady growth and steady dividend payouts higher than most in CSE.

And we will have 1 billion regular income.

Who want to buy the shares @ 20/- ?

Your idea is well and good btw. What is the maximum length one could get a fixed deposit for though? Hell to pay if the rates are reduced once the length of the FD or TB expires.
