Dear Rana thanks for sharing,but your title is misleading.It's true that there are some songs which have copied melodies from Hindi and English songs.Sri Lanka have produce outstanding musicians who have produced many melodies none is second to any Hindi or English melody.

Copying is part of learning...
When Americans so Japanese are copying their products and blamed Japanese for copying, Japanese in return said in our language we don't have two separate words for learning and copying. ( source- Made in Japan- Akio Morita)
South Koreans in return copied Japanese. So did Chinese.
From where did Americans copied.. Its from India and China, the two main civilizations of the world.
Chess, Maths all were copied by Western.. and the conduit was Arabians.
We all are connected.
Now what I say is don't limit copying to music.. Take it to all other areas specially to Technical World and Academic World ...
That's where we lack learning....

It is these kind of copying and specially after Rukantha Goonethilaka ,that we use many sophisticated chords like augmented ans sus... Not even in Calarence Wijewardhana's songs included them.. Copied improved our music standard a lot.. Let other sectors too copy
