අපවත්වී වදාළ පූජ්‍ය මාදුළුවාවේ සෝභිත හිමියන්ගේ දේහය සිංගප්පූරුවේ සිට අද (08) රාත්‍රී 9.10ට කටුනායක ගුවන් තොටුපළට වැඩම කරවීමට නියමිතයි. උන්වහන්සේගේ ආදාහන පූජෝත්සවය පූර්ණ රාජ්‍ය අනුග්‍රහය සහිතව ලබන 12 වනදා පස්වරු 3 ට සිදුකෙරෙන්නේ පාර්ලිමේන්තු ක්‍රීඩාංගණයේදීයි. එසේම එදින ජාතික ශෝක දිනයක් ලෙස රජය ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කර තිබෙනවා.

අපවත්වී වදාළ පූජ්‍ය මාදුළුවාවේ සෝභිත හිමියන්ගේ දේහය පිළිබඳ අවසන් කටයුතු සිදුකිරීම පිළිබඳ මෙම තීරණ ගැනුණේ කෝට්ටේ නාග විහාරයේ අද පෙරවරුවේ පැවැති විශේෂ සාකච්ඡාවකින් අනතුරුවයි. මහා සංඝරත්නය මෙන්ම අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ ඇතුළු විහාරස්ථානයේ දායක සභාව ඊට එක්වුණා.

මේ අතර, අපවත් වී වදාළ පූජ්‍ය මාදුළුවාවේ සෝභිත හිමියන්ගේ දේහය සිංගප්පූරු ගුවන් තොටුපළ වෙත වැඩම කරවා තිබුණේ එරට ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහකොමසාරිස් කාර්යාලයේදී සිදුකෙරුණු ආගමික වතාවත්වලින් අනතුරුවයි. මුදල් අමාත්‍ය රවී කරුණානායක ද ඊට සහභාගි වී තිබෙනවා.

අද රාත්‍රියේ දිවයිනට වැඩමවන දේහය කොළඹ මල් ශාලාවක තැන්පත් කිරීමෙන් පසු හෙට උදෑසන විශේෂ රිය පෙරහරකින් කෝට්ටේ ශ්‍රී නාග විහාරස්ථානය වෙත රැගෙන එන බව අධිකරණ සහ බුද්ධශාසන අමාත්‍ය විජේදාස රාජපක්ෂ ප්‍රකාශ කළා.

අපවත්වන විට 73 හැවිරිදි වියේ පසුවූ මාදුළුවාවේ සෝභිත හිමියන් සිංගප්පූරුවේ වැඩිදුර ප්‍රතිකාර සඳහා රැගෙන ගියේ මෙරටදී හෘද සැත්කමක් සිදුකිරීමෙන් අනතුරුවයි.

1942 වසරේ මැයි 29 වනදා හෝමාගම - පාදුක්ක - මාදුළුවාව ගම් පියසේදී දරුවන් තුන්දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් පවුලක උපත ලැබූ සෝභිත හිමියන් පැවිදි බිමට එළඹුණේ කෝට්ටේ ශ්‍රී නාග විහාරයේදියි.

1962 වසරේදී උපසම්පදාව ලද උන්වහන්සේ විද්‍යාලංකාර සහ විද්‍යෝදය පිරිවෙන්වලින් උසස් අධ්‍යාපනය හදාරනු ලැබුවා. අනතුරුව 1964 දී ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයෙන් ශාස්ත්‍රවේදී ගෞරව උපාධිය හිමිකරගත් සෝභිත හිමියන් දීපව්‍යාප්ත ශාසනික මෙහෙවරක නිරතවූ අතර, සමාජ ගැටළුවලට විසඳුම් සෙවීම සඳහා අප්‍රතිහත ධෛර්යෙන් කටයුතු කළා.

දේශීය සහ අන්තර්ජාතික වශයෙන් උන්වහන්සේ සිදුකළ ශාසනික සේවය ප්‍රශංසනීය වනවා මෙන්ම ජාතීන් අතර සහජීවනය ගොඩනැගීම සඳහාද පූජ්‍ය මාදුළුවාවේ සෝභිත හිමියන් ක්‍රියාකාරී නායකත්වයක් ලබාදුන්නා.

සාධාරණ සමාජයක් සඳහා වූ ජනතා ව්‍යාපාරය තුළින් වත්මන් යහපාලන රජය බිහිකිරීම සඳහා පූජ්‍ය මාදුළුවාවේ සෝභිත හිමියන් දැක්වූයේ අනුපමේය දායකත්වයක්. විපක්ෂයේ සියලූ කණ්ඩායම් එක්කොට පැවති රජය පරාජය කිරීම සඳහා පොදු අපේක්ෂකයෙකු තෝරාගත යුතු බවටද සෝභිත හිමියන් යෝජනා කළා.

The sapling planted by good governance blossoms ! SC issues notice on president Maithri

The blossoming of the sapling planted by the victorious rainbow revolution of 8 th January became most fragrant when the Supreme court issued notice on president Maithripala Sirisena . This notice was issued in relation to a government tender based on which a company has filed a petition in the Supreme court (SC) alleging that owing to this tender being granted to the wrong party , the government incurred a loss of Rs. 2000 million !

Since the day the executive presidency was introduced in 1978 , until now, because of the immunity from legal action enjoyed by the executive president , no case could be filed against the president nor he be made a party to a legal action. Following the victory of the rainbow revolution on 8 th January 2015 however , this presidential immunity was withdrawn by the 19th amendment passed by the good governance government under its 100 days program.

When this petition was heard yesterday , the objection was raised that the president cannot be named as a respondent . However the chief justice SriPavan overruling the objection said, a case can be heard against the president as a minister. Previously the legal position was no case can be filed against the president under any circumstance , even a divorce suit.

Nobel Resources Co. had filed this action on the ground that while this Co. had made a lesser tender bid for the supply of coal to the government , the tender was awarded to ‘Swiss Singapore ‘ Co. that offered to supply the commodity at a higher price, whereby the government incurred a loss of Rs. 2000 million !

The chief justice ordered that summons be issued on the president , prime minister and a group of members of the Cabinet to appear in court on 15 th December.

This action of the SC certainly has put a plaster across the cavernous stinking mouths of the pro Rajapakse clan who scream ‘whither good governance?’
