    The prices of some essential medicines have gone up considerably in the recent past.

    The National drug policy was successfully passed in the parliament and we were happy that the prices of essential medicines would go down. But unfortunately the prices of essential medicines have gone up considerably.

    Many retirees and poor people are affected due to this. Is this also another work by NATO? Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

    The act has so many good things but to adopt those there should be adequate infrastructure development,without those things no point of talking about drug policy.

    those days sirisena was crying in tv screens because according to him ,rajapakshas were not allowing him to implement this precious solution called drug policy to cure all the ills of drug scene in sri lanka. now he has all the powers under the sun , but see the effect of so called drug policy. prices are going up day by day.we all were deceived by modapalana.

    Yes. Bought monthly medicines for parents and cost of some medicines have gone up drastically. Worried about many pensioners who live on very low income. They had lots of expections and now it's fading away.

    The National drug policy should be somehow implemented and the prices of medicines should come down. At least it should not be increased.

    Sri Lanka still doesn't have facilities to manufacture all to fulfil country's requirements,therefore many drugs are importing,the depreciating Rupee is the main culprit for the recent price hike.

    So what should be the solution.Production should increase to achieve the country's need,there should be a independent institute to assess the quality of imports and our products.Country needs long-term practical policies and capable people.NATO guys are failed miserably here.
