Indian carriers seem to be losing contact with the European air traffic control (ATC) with alarming regularity these days leading to fighter jets being scrambled to escort our planes.

On Friday, Air India's Ahmedabad-London-Newark flight lost contact with the ATC when it was over Hungary. The aircraft remained out of reach for almost an hour. Alarmed by an incommunicado plane, Hungary scrambled fighter jets.

It was only much later when contact was established with the pilots of the Dreamliner that the fighter planes flew away and the plane continued its journey to London Heathrow.

I hear some have got off. One teacher has taken his students and got off as well. Some may had appointments or commitments which made them continue. Some may not have known how to react not knowing the full story.

And never underestimate the power of social media. Now the entire world knows what happened and demanding justice. Look at how the CEO's stance changed to a full out apology later.. This was a fully paid , already seated passenger !

She needs 2 years experience at a call center or in handling people. Seems to have gone to the top (or done her MBA) without the initial building blocks

Yes, it is true not to undermine the power of Social media.
With the advancement in this area, we are realizing the power of collective actions, unlike in previous times.
Interesting question to ask is how did United select this passenger for (in)voluntary disembarkation.
Was racial profiling too going on in United ?

CEO of the future (or even present) needs next generation media skills and conflict resolution skills.

On a separate note, the mobile device we hold will in future decide which countries win and which countries loose (as they can make or break a person ; and a group of people consist a nation).

Airline has said based on a complex formula where loyalty points, etc, etc were used . Wonder whether it gave option 5, 6, etc.

Racial profiling - more than United, i wonder whether the security officer would have done the same to a "white Doctor" (sorry to sound racist here).

Assuming this is a standard ticket, IMO, after seating a passenger, the Carrier cannot force anyone out due to overbooking...only request. If no volunteers, get one of the new additions to use an alternate placement

A few Add Ons' for voluntary disembarkation, like adding a few thousand miles to one's account, a recovery ticket, use of their premium lounges etc could make such situations Win Win ones.
Profiling is going on in many carriers and they do it secretly at the moment.
This is an ideal time to bring that to front too.
