Last time copper peaked was in 2010. Then ACL profits was hit in 2010 to 2011.
Even with the recent hike copper is still about 40% less than 2010.
Also these companies I believe tend to lock in with copper contract so even if copper bounces 10% more I thonk they should not be in great danger zone. Still should report atleast Rs 8-9 eps for coming year.
Since 2010, ACL NAV improved nearly 40%. They are more diversified . It was one of those shares that did not have massive run in 2010/2011 ( due to poor earnings) .
But I think if/when ASI beats previous high ( 7800) ACL has good chance to beat it all time share price highCopper increase or not , it deserves that and signs are showing

So ACL beating Rs 120 and KCAB Rs 140 is still game in the medium term.
Also ACL purchase of HPWR though weird seems a good buy right now.

Re: ACL CABLES PLC-Research Report-2014
Notes
ACL is a pretty much undervalued counter as per the above analysis (refer the Price to book value ratio)
Last quarter profit improvement (EPS 7.26) could be mainly due to the drop in the Copper prices and Fuel prices and increase in the revenue
Global copper prices are at a record low level currently and still declining therefore ACL should be benefiting from this for atleast next 2 quarters
Therefore EPS of Rs 6 or higher for the June quarter can be expected assuming revenue will stay at same level.
Share price should not be lesser than Rs 130 if ACL can achieve EPS of Rs 6 in June quarter

Re: ACL CABLES PLC-Research Report-2014
This is around Rs. 148m capital gain on the entitlement.
But ACL has other borrowings of Rs 3.7b; Rs. 2.4 is short term. Cash available is Rs. 1.4b with the repurchase amount will come to almost 2b.
If someone has studied how they have managed the cash then we might get an answer.
ACL owes APLA a lot of money. I think this is shown as trade payables.
