Will the Russian ban of imports from US and Europe have a positive impact on our exports like Tea?
The winter months are just a wink away and I am sure the Tea exporters will have a sigh of relief soon.

I think any imports of tea through europeans may get affected but direct imports from Sri Lanka and other regions will see a boost. This is an opportunity to diversify our exports too, to Russian region countries when imports from the west is curtailed. I see a window of opportunity here.

There are tea blending companies in UK & Europe. They domonate in packted tea industry in the world. It is opportune time that we enter this lucrative market in a big scale. This is possible with recent tax incentives granted.

Do we know what happened to the Tea, after it leaves our shores?
They get blended, packaged and branded differently.
EU to Russia exports are over US $ 3 billion and those value added tea may not be that significant comparatively.
As someone said here, we should find a way start exporting to them direct.
Iraq was one of our biggest buyers, a few years ago but we lost that market due to the instability over there.
