    Export earnings of Sri Lankan tea industry in 2019 was USD 1.27 Billion. Sri Lanka cannot lose this  USD 1 Billion Business. Still Colombo Tea Auction record higher prices for Black Tea. However Sri Lanka has to be mindful on other tea producing nations.

    Sri Lankan tea producing quantity over years remain stagnant. Unless new lands are found within Sri Lanka, the tea quantity will remain stable.

    One solution would be re-assigning the lands with the intention of improving efficiency. Among RPC companies we see wide range of performance.

    The damage was already done when SWRD gave a tiny kik for our dumb people with nationalistic ideas. And then Srimavo  nationalised the top performing private estates. The investors went to kenya and other regions. And worst thing is most of these dumb people still think that what she did was right and great.
