All Share index crosses 6,000 points

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka's All Share index crossed the psychological 6,000-point barrier briefly on Tuesday surging 0.94 percent a little after 11 a.m. up 55.82 points from the previous close.

The S&P SL20 of more liquid stocks which crossed 3,000 points early Monday was up 1.36 percent, gaining 41.71 points to 3,100.30.

Stocks are continuing to extend a three-day surge despite the country plunging in to constitutional crisis.

On Friday the benchmark index gained 1.1 percent and then surged 1.9 percent on Monday.

So far in the day, 100 stocks have gained against 19 that declined.

John Keells Holdings was leading the surge gaining 4.93 percent, up 7 rupees to 148.90 rupees.

Can I request something please?
I appreciate your news updates and your postings.

But...
when there are articles several people put lot of time to write on, when 10-12 news items comes , those posts get buried in the feeds so no one will see them.

Any chance you can please hold off or limit the news items a bit when such posting /articles are there so they don't get buried. Else efforts are wasted.  

As mentioned, I appreciate you efforts to update anyway. Please keep posting.

Timing is what I mentioned about.

Will consider it but I need to state that the news items I have selected have a direct or indirect impact on SL Equities. My objective is to give everyone else the access to such important news as and when they come.

2-3 important news items will not cause flooding issue.  But 8-10 will cause the issue

I made this request from  a personal  and Administrative perspective too politely.

But I will leave it as your  choice to know whether I made sense or
am making a   reasonable request or not .

There are share discussion too which are buried now ( on 8-10 news items)

sls can't we modify the latest topic bar to show only discussion without news. If we need we can see the news by selecting the news category. then those discussions will not bury,

Dear Invisible

SLS has made a kind request. It is not an attempt to prevent you from trying to write or posting or even quoting from other news sources.

Can you kindly add some of the news under relevant headings. so it will not bury the discussions taking place at the moment. Lets say you quote something on AHPL. So why not you post under relevant thread. Or else you can start up one single thread and add everything under that like Dhanurox's quarter reports or Rana's dividend thread.

Sorry I being the Librarian here prefer to see all books nicely located in relevant racks than scattered all over the tables

This am not sure.

There were some Admin forum changes made since my disappearance
from last year to this march.  

I think what you asking should be possible if people agree. ( but not sure)

thanks sls. anyhow yk has given a good solution. it's better to have a dedicated topic for invi to post the news. (as rana doing the dividend topic). I think invi is smart enough to understand this friendly request. I know he has a very large knowledge on stock market and we all can benefit from that.
