ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirsena Monday named Mahinda Rajapaksa, whom he appointed prime minister, as the island's new minister of finance and economic affairs following what has been described by critics as a constitutional coup.

Sirisena’s office announced new ministerial appointments in several Twitter messages.

Mahinda Samarasinghe retained his position as Minister of Ports and Shipping along with Nimal Siripala de Silva as Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation.

Sarath Amunugama was named Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Arumugam Thondaman was named Minister of Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure and Community Development while Douglas Devananda was appointed Minister of Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Northern Development, & Hindu Religious Affairs.

Faiszer Musthapha was named Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government, and Sports, Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa Minister of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development and Rural Economic Affairs and Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe Minister of Education and Higher Education.

Ranjith Siyambalapitiya is the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy and Mahinda Amaraweera Minister of Agriculture.

If someone is not exposed to news last few days he would not recognise any power trasition by looking at the cabinet.
Same people who betrayed the island for last 20 Years back in business.
