Used to sold to Aunty in the boarding at a discounted price and buy what we wants as it some times stipulated to buy only things which are high in calories, proteins etc...

If you didn't have enough money to open a savings account; you had the option of starting with a 'savings stamp book'. Once you saved 12 stamps in the book, they would convert it into a 'savings account'.
Hmm. it looks 'Money' was not that abundant those days.

The Card had specific number of slots for each denomination.
25 cents, 50 cents and even Rs 1 slots were there (if I can remember correctly) and school children were encouraged to save that way.
Once all the slots are taken, a card would worth Rs 100/= (again if I can remember correctly) and then you can open a NSB (minor) account with that Card and get another new card and start the whole process again from the scratch.
