    When I was writing about HNB Assurance two day ago I said, by that everyone is selling in a panic mode created by Capital Gain Tax. So no one is worried about analyzing individual shares.

    Now I am writing about Union Assurance and by that time everyone is rushing to buy what they sold again in a herd mentality.

    As per regulator IBSL, insurance companies had to divide General and Life into two separate business units. This prompted certain Insurance companies to reconsider Life and General.

    On 1st January 2015, the Company divested a 78% stake in its subsidiary Union Assurance General Limited to Farifax Asia Limited retaining 22% stake. The sale resulted in a capital gain or Rs 1.22 billion to the company.

    Lucky they are to get such big Capital Gain before imposing tax.

    So now UAL is purely a life insurance company.

    Life Insurance industry comprised of 15 players and 2 of which are multi nationals. Nine out of that have been listed in CSE. The industry is dominated by 5 largest players sharing among them approximately 91% of total Funds Under Management and 81% of the market.

    UAL share was always trading at a higher value than Net Assets giving less chances for patient buyers..

    Dividend was growing parallel to Earnings..

    Growing Dividend is something rare where some companies maintain constant dividend amounts...

    Dividend growth is a worthy cause to analyze than dividend yield for a person who want to hold for a long term. Not every share shows growing dividends...
