Re: Why people leave?
Their Manager is the first and foremost reason because:
- New graduates want to be involved in the decision making process from day one and managers should take cognisance of this fact.
- Training should not be left with class room style training alone as this is not effective, they want hands on training.
- they need a mentor who will take the time and effort to show them the ropes. Using colleagues to coach and train them leads to disaster or them leaving as the colleagues themselves are competitors.
- Most of the graduates need resources to perform the job or else they will complain. Keep in mind that most graduates already have exposure to some sort of high tech even at home and collage.
- the training should be consistent and well structured according to needs.
- Weekly reviews and feed back are essential between trainee and manager.
- Compensation is important though not the most in line with market trends and demands.

Re: Why people leave?
Can it always be something to do with the company ?
What share the employee has in this issue ?
How about unrealistic expectations ?

Along the same line how about those who volunteer for free service.
What reasons do they have to stay or leave?
