ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දකුණු පළාතේ විශේෂ ආර්ථික කලාපයක් ස්ථාපිත කිරීම සඳහා චීනය විසින් අක්කර 15,000 ක භූමිභාගයක් ඉල්ලා ඇති බව ෆෝබ්ස් වෙබ් අඩවිය වාර්තා කරයි. මෙරට සංවර්ධන උපායමාර්ගික හා ජාත්‍යන්තර වෙළෙඳ අමාත්‍ය මලික් සමරවික්‍රම මහතාගේ ප්‍රකාශයක් උපුටා දක්වමින් ෆෝබ්ස් අඩවිය මෙම පුවත වාර්තා කර තිබේ.

මෙම් විශේෂ ආර්ථික කලාපය හරහා නව රැකියා අවස්ථා දශ ලක්ෂයක් බිහිවනු ඇතැයි ඇස්තමේන්තු කර තිබේ.

" Hide " is another something that we got wrong.  
(It is an old land measuring unit and not " ගෙරි හම " as it has been in usage).

Protugese asked a land just to cover enough Cow Hide.. King granted permission...

Portugese shred the hide into small pieces and made it a rope and measured a large land...

Hide was a very old land measuring unit and they have asked only one hide of land and this is another, got lost in the translation.  

(The hide, from the Anglo-Saxon word meaning "family", was, in the early medieval period, a land-holding that was considered sufficient to support a family. This was equivalent to 60 to 120 old acres (approximately 30 modern acres (120,000 m2)) depending on the quality of the land).
