Otara in politics ?

In fact I have no idea where her political allegiances lie.

But Otara started a business in a very small scale and managed to create a Brand name and a sizeable clothing empire in Sri Lanka.

Comparatively, Ravi Karunanayagam was just lucky being married to daughter of a rich family.

He got lot to prove but not Otara.

I think, irrespective of her political allegiances, if we want something good for the country, we should invest on such people who have proven their worth than those who got simply lucky.

Defa will be good for the stary dogs in the country.

Business peoples don't make good politiccas. Backing people who have proven their worth in other fields does not translate into any benefits for the citizens of sri lanka. Sanath Jayasuriya proven his worth in cricket but what use was he in politics? Anarkali proved her worth in the field of lying in a horizontal position but what use was she in politics?

Pick the best from the bunch of thieves who are in politics rather than hoping for the impossible.

next bunch of goons to be in politics are astrologers..Sri Lanka and its people belongs to astrologers, they are more powerful next to lawyers.

I got your point Jiggi, but Otara unlike Sanath and Anarkali has proven her business acumen.

At the end of the day, what matters most is whether the bottom line is Green or Red than how many sixes one can hit or how many young men one can fool.

In that sense, Otara has proven (even though, she may not be able to hit as many sixes as he did and or to fool as many as others have done) that she can keep the bottom line Green.
