HASU is the 6th largest Life Insurance Company in Sri Lanka.

Insurance penetration of Sri Lanka is one of the lowest and hovers around 1%. It was stagnating at this level for a long period. Asian region average of Insurance penetration is 5.4% and the global average is 6%. Hence insurance has more potential to grow.

As per the terms of Regulation of Insurance Industry Amendment Act No 3 of 2011, all composite insurance companies were required to segregate their life and general insurance business from the beginning of 2015.

Thanks to the Market Down trend we have experienced over a couple of years, many shares are becoming attractive and fallen PE value below 5.

Insurance Industry is one that has ample of capacity to grow specially in LIFE .

HNB Assurance has named the previous year as Winning  Formula.. I too agree with the term as the year was extremely successful to the company.

Overall revenue of the company is growing not in a linear line but on exponential level.

We have seen Insurance companies selling either LIFE or Motor to protect the other. Recent example was JINS. It sold Motor and now the company is very small and just handling life. HASU is managing both General and LIFE well.
