Remember, Milk Powder like Oil is highly political with price restrictions and government intervention.

@ Hybrid - is this mere speculation and theory on your part or based on some credible news ?
i doubt it will be sold due to expansion in fresh milk dairy operation. and for our insurance friend, milk powder may be an avenue to make some extra pocket money.
As Milford / Mills etc are controlling shareholders of DIST, LMF giving the DIST Shares (almost 1 :1) as a stock dividend remains a distant possibility in the event the Melstacorp metamorphis happens.
recently, i visited a dairy farm overseas, where the cows were the size of small elephants ! and giving 45-50 litres of milk per day. i think LMF cows are still at 20 litres but still way ahead of the small-owner cows that give 4-5 litres / day.

I doubt of any selling effort of LMF by the major party.

LMF sell Lakspray, Ambewela , Blu, My Juice, Happy Cow which are highly demanded commodities..

The sales reps of LMF are almost dictating terms to buyers like Uni Levers..

Even big retail-chains have to agree with the shorter credit period less commission due to high bargaining power which really get connected with Distilleries.. If you dont agree you wont get Disti to sell..

Such a powerful supplier will not sell this company..Further Ambewela fresh milk is high on demand as slowly wealthy consumers are moving form powder to fresh milk

As a CCS fan I would like to add something.Same trend is there with soft drinks where consumers are onto fresh fruit drinks more.And CCS always ahead.It had it biggest run to 400 which was happy times for us.You and me.

If you think LMF as a business it's a whole different game. I feel it is outrageous to hold the stake of DIST while having massive debt to finance. Core operations are running at a loss. At least a part of DIST stake should be sold/transferred and cash should be used to pay down some debt.
