In 1984 a photo of a green-eyed girl staring out of the front cover of National Geographic became an icon of the plight of Afghan refugees forced by war into Pakistani refugee camps.
The well known image of Sharbat Gula that featured on the cover of National Geographic magazine in 1984.
Afghan Girl is a photograph by journalist Steve McCurry.
The photograph has been likened to Leonardo da Vinci's painting of the Mona Lisa and has been called "the First World's Third World Mona Lisa".
The image was named "the most recognized photograph" in the history of the magazine, and the cover itself is one of the most famous of the National Geographic. - Wikipedia

The first photo has been taken when she was 12years old , now She is 42 years. The first photo became the most famous cover image in National Geographic's history.
However, now she is being investigated on fraudulent identity papers, like our Madam Shasi.
