Re: Farm to Fridge - The Truth Behind Meat Production
But according to my knowledge some methods shown in dairy & pig industry in this video is not a practise used by most of the farmers. Objective of any business is profit & killing male animals in this way is loosing their profit margin. So part of this video about dairy & pig industry is over exaggerate. Some of the other practices shown here are correct & even using in dairy & pig industry in Sri Lanka as well.
I have seen some of other methods (not all) shown in this video is practising poultry farmers abroad & hatcheries in Sri Lanka as well.

I really hate the kulu-gedi method.
Also seen a dish where a fish is alive while its body is cooked and eaten.
What ever cultural practices people like to go head with, I think humans if they are human need to use brains to figure out what is right and wrong.
On a related and different subject :
ISIS execution method is unspeakable. If they want to kill, atleast kill with only one sword swish to behead to cause less pain.

Re: Farm to Fridge - The Truth Behind Meat Production
Its about an Indian boy who is a vegetarian by choice and a practitioner of all religions
His father is a rational person who allow his children to select their own way but protect their children from teaching the realities..A tiger will kill you and eat you and thats his way...
The family happen to travel in a ship. Father and one son can eat anything but not the mother and the main character of the film.
Mother ask vegetarian food but served the same food including meat and rice.. Father insist that they need vegetarian food...Chef says yes.. these bulls are vegetarians and then its meat is also vegetarian...Next a quarrel.. Next a smiling Chinese intervene and say I am a Buddhist I don't eat meat but only curry...
This movie is looking at the issue in a very practical way..

In Buddhism, it doesn't clearly say not to eat meat because it is not directly related to enlightenment. This is a highly controversial topic which is part of the 5 questions Devadhatta asks Buddha with an objective of creating a bad image about Buddha.
But killing/harming of any animal is not accepted in Buddhism.
