Recently i went to the Nano technology institute in Sri Lanka and one "to be" Doctor said he will be going to USA and doing his research on curing certain types of cancer using nano particles in manioc.

Great if he finds a way

They talk about Vitamin B 17.
There is no such think called B17.

It is a name given by laymen for something we know to make it look smooth.

This is not to criticize the article. I also believe in these things and do my own experiments.

Actually B17 is almost cyanide.

From time immemorial we knew Manioc aka Cassava contains cyanide.

The advice given by grandmother was මඤඤොක්කා තම්බන කොට ඇරල තම්බන්න to allow cyanide to get evaporated.

Actually if eating manioc kills cancer cells, I think it is due to an action of cyanide.

Hence, they should say cancer cells are destroyed or controlled by cyanide contained in cassava.

I usually bring manioc at least once a week from pola. These days 50/- kilo. Sunday dinner manioc without rice . Usually with katta sambola or miris maalu hodi with lot of coconut.

It's very sad my friends father suffering a cancer.  

Cancer is not quite the killer it used to be. I have 5 friends who have fought and recovered, one who is fighting hard right now and 3 who succumbed. A positive proactive attitude is a common feature among my friends who are in remission.

I posted here because this incident is unbelievable and very shocked to me, One week ago he was very healthy and suddenly got sicked and discovered a cancer. Life is so... uncertain.

There is a medical check that can be done for Cancer identification.

When i left my last job recently, i got myself checked as i had a big unused medical allowance.

I did the check at Lanka Hospitals, but there can be many places that do and should be much cheaper than Lanka Hospitals - which was approx Rs 11k.

Suggest you'll do for your Parents if possible.

It's depend on the grade of the cancer, if it has spreaded outcome is poor.
