ANY DSLR ENTHUSIASTS OUT THERE?

Post by Hybrid on Fri Sep 25, 2015 3:06 pm

Are there any DSLR enthusiasts out there among our member's?

The BloodMoon Lunar Eclipse can be seen between 7:30 - 8:40PM on Sunday (27th Sept).

Capturing this never to be seen in our life time scene can be memorable.
We need to get the experts on Photography out to educate us on the Tips, Tricks and Traps of getting the picture right the first time. There's no second chance, unless you take 100 shots with an hour.

Some tips that were shared by an expert:

- be aware that more light is required
- its quite safe to look directly through the Binoculars, telescope, camera or spotting scope.
- Always ensure that you can own this scene as Millions will have the same shot and you cannot prove you took it. (Have a land mark as a backdrop)
- scout the site before hand to ensure which direction the moon will appear.
- Ensure there is nothing obstructing the view
- be careful in avoiding falling off balconies, trees, buildings and being run over or electrocuted in getting the best shot. (Remember that those who take selfies have died in the hundreds)

Update on the Sightings

Just read an update that in Sri Lanka the Blood Moon will be seen only on 28th Monday between 5:41 pm and 10:51 pm. That's a good 5 hours. Get your camera batteries charged and if possible get an extra set just in case.

Don't forget to have a Good DSLR. I have one for sale if you want it cheap Very Happy (Just joking!

Also please have a large storage Chip like 4GB and over for the photos.

the movie would require more Gb between 4- 20GB depending on the pic size. My camera minimum shot would take between 1 MB - 8MB depending on the settings!

Fold-able chair, mosquito repellent, Thermos (Nestle snack) and most importantly a good vantage point (where you can capture other unforgettable shots, even after the moon wane off). Very Happy
Good Luck.

Okay Hybrid.
Good shot- change avatar
But bad shot - you have to show your real pic in avatar

Will be interesting to see moon shot taken from all around the world. Specially around the poles.

Sorry Guys!

I just got an update on the timings and it turns out that this bloody eclipse will happen in the eastern hemisphere during the day and NOT at night on 28th.

I am really disappointed.

Only the people in the US, Canada and South America could see it.

Think he was kidding on selling. But if he wanted to strike a deal with you ... alright by me.
HyBrid give you best price to Kiths Smile

Hey, got an idea , we should have buy and sell thread added to forum and a comission given to FG.
It will make FG richer/compensated.

ok! ok!

Admit the defeat.
But sometimes it happens that "Gahen waticchcha manussayata Gona ennah waghe" with the comments!

I am deeply disappointed that I missed the bloody moon and I may or may not live till 2030 to see another. Then comes the butt with you trying to buy my camera!

It's okay. I won't sell it 'cos it has sentimental value.
Anyway I hope to get what ever shot of the moon tomorrow between 5 am and 6 am and that will be my avatar. Hope there will not be clouds or rain.

Hybrid, think like this on this opportunity miss ( to make you feel better)

1) I am sure even if you miss this , some other good one will happen.
2) We all may like to be at the top of Everest. But can't.
Lets be happy seeing the movie Everest 2015 in 3D or IMAX ( may years ago people did not have that opportunity even unless you read a book or visualized or saw a crappy photo).

Same way, you can see the beautiful images of the moon 1000s of people will post from over the world ( maybe more from north america were it is visible) at no cost via internet.

I think we are still lucky in a way to "see it" , even if we don't see it with our own eyes.

Very good shot with your Chinese camera.

Only thing is that the moon has slanted eyes

May be that is the species of camera!
