Post by sashimaal on Thu May 14, 2015 5:11 pm

බුදුන්වහන්සේ ලොව පහලව මේ මායාව දැක,මිනිසුන් ඒ ගැන දැනුවත් කරනව.ඒ බව තේරුම් ගන්නා ප්‍රඥාවන්තයෝ දිවීම නවතා ගමන නිමකර නිවන නම්වු ක්ෂේමභූමියට ලගා වෙති.(මේ වචන අල්ලගෙන වාදයට නොපැමිනෙන්න}

Nirvana and is not "relative" .

So whether it is a mirage or whether it is not a mirage are not applicable questions for Nirvana .

You have understood a difficult area (this is related to the questions King Devanam Piyathissa was asked to fathom his "Wisdom" before sharing the message of Buddhism - commonly these are knows as the questions about Mango Trees and about relations).

Try to understand the following example which will try to explain something words cannot say (Nirvana cannot be explained in words):

Place a pencil in your hand.
Now remove the pencil.
Now what is there?
nothing?? (or air??)
what happens when that nothing (or air) is also not there?

that is Nirvana...

That will make you understand why i replied like that previously. As whether such can or cannot be a mirage is not an applicable question.

Nirvana, god, Swargaya, were created thousands years back to fool the stone-age people, but they never realized even rocket age people also get fooled by these terms..

so even today, in the rocket age, the state of mind of a person is controlled by few people born in stone-age era..

is it not helarious???

That will be relative to "presence" (in other words "absence" is relative to "presence" . "Absence" is there when there is a thing called "Presence" )

Nirvana is a state where absence nor presence is there.

Hope it's clear now Smile

Nirvana is when you kill your mind from your mind. That ends the concept of me or myself forever. This cannot be explained in words as shashi said.

I think, if you mix scientific principles with buddhist Nirvana it will make things complicated to explain .

To me Nirvana = a state of mind where human desires, delusions and antipathy is no more.
It leading to no cycle of rebirth is the next step as I understand.

I was answering to the question Kithsiri asked.

It is not about the scientific principle of relativity.

However the answer came out much better than i also thought Smile

Good and healthy discussion and thanks all for participation. Very Happy

This reminds me of an old story.

Teacher asked Kids in the class, Who would like to go to Nirvana,
All except one child raised the hands.
Teacher asked the solitary child why he does not like ?
(Mind you this was before the Mid day interval break).
He said, I will join you all after the Interval.
(That was the time schools got a bun and packet of milk free from the Govt).
